A unique city centre pub with a rich history

Nicholson’s Pubs are known for their individual style, exciting stories, and charming personalities — and The Kings Head is certainly no exception.

With a long and distinguished history, The King's Head stands on land formerly owned by the Duke of Albemarle. It’s undergone several name changes since 1710 but is now back with its original name thought to be credited to King Charles II. Some however, believe it is named after King George II, so we depicted both on our pub's sign.

The park is surrounded by three palaces: Westminster, which is now the Houses of Parliament, St. James’ Palace, and of course Buckingham Palace. Visitors to the park often pass through The King’s Head, and enjoy a refreshing drink here today, just as they’ve always done.
